Automatic Version Control

We use Collaboration for rendering projects that can have 100+ renderings throughout the life of the project. These views are set upon project startup and updated regularly using "Add New Version" for each image. This should be controlled in batch on the project page to allow for project-wide versioning. The current workflow based on Chaos limitations:

  1. Open project page

  2. Open specific rendering

  3. Select "Add New Version" to upload revision

  4. Switch back to project page

  5. Open next rendering

  6. "Select Add New Version" to upload revision

  7. Repeat 100x

Clearly, allowing the uploader to search for matching filenames to prompt users for version control would save enormous labor costs when updating a set of images. The proposed workflow:

  1. Open project page

  2. Select "Upload"

  3. Select all updated images

  4. Chaos prompts users for versioning options and either a.) adds new versions or b.) uploads copies with the same name

Please take a look at this, we love the version control feature of the Collaboration tools and use it daily!
